So this past weekend we did our Sprint Triathlon as a Relay team. We decided to race as Team Becherovka a little over a month ago, so expectations were not exactly sky high. But I knew we would have fun and it would be something a little different than our average weekend at the lake.
Michelle was our designated swimmer. She had some concerns about the water temp (it was pretty darn cold) and in the end probably wished she had the wetsuit. She ended up being one of the very few to go without one. But she had a great swim time and looked relatively happy upon exiting the water.
Jason was up next as the biker. Jason used to bike quite a bit, but when he took a new job about a year ago, his commuting ended. Definitely not as much bike time as he would like lately, but Jason came out and showed us all what he can do. He put up the 6th fastest time on the bike of all the relays. He hustled his buns alright!
I was last as the runner. I will say I didn't do as well as I would have liked, but had a great time doing it. There is incentive in seeing everyone's age on their leg, as you don't want to let some "old guy" beat you!
After the end of the race the times were posted. Team Becherovka pulled off a huge day and ended up coming in 4th out of 25 teams. Not too shabby considering we decided to race a month ago! Shots all around!!
A good time was had by all. Now in planning- the Patriot Sprint Triathlon in Williamsburg, VA. But this time, we're all doing the whole thing. Bring it on!
